Ask a Yogi! / Retinal tear or detachment and Ashtanga
« on: December 17, 2007, 08:19:21 PM »
I am wondering if people who had retinal tears or detachment (which have been treated and healed properly) can still practice ashtanga.
I read in several places that yoga inverted poses should be avoided in those cases. But there seems to be no reliable medical study regarding this subject.
There also a conception that vigorous activities (such as weight lifting) should be avoided during recovery, but walking and jogging is OK. Can ashtanga be considered a vigorous activity?
What do you think?
Thanks,
Lucas
